Info for PV athletes and parents
Another great week for the Panthers. The meets went very well, and we are off to an amazing start. We'll have full meet recaps coming up later in the week (when I get a few minutes to type them up). And we'll also have an update later in the week asking for and finalizing help with the PV Invite which is next week. So please check back later and be ready to help.
MEET RECAP:
JV @ Snow Canyon - A real solid first meet for our team. We had a lot of great performances to start the season. We are especially proud of our athletes out competing for the first time. We had four marks make our 2025 Performance Chart: Burkley's shot, Elsie's 100 and 200, and Julia's HJ; great job! We also had some good results in the sprints from Carson, and Freshman girls (Payton, Mia, and Payton). Results
Snow Canyon Invite - PV came out strong in our first Invite of the season. The girls ended as meet champions, and in the combined scores, PV took 2nd overall. Please take these positive vibes to friends and see if we can get a few more people out to the team. Tell your friends we'll work with them in their busy club sports schedules and everything else; we just need a few more people to take this team right to the top! We had some very notable performances this past weekend. Some of our best were two school records: Ashley in the 200 and Keira in the Disc! We had a ton of State Qualifiers (SQs) and a lot of finalists and point scorers. Let's take a second and give a huge shout-out to Tevye (1600 & 3200) and Mailey (disc) for hitting their SQs in their very first meet. We've updated our 2025 Performance Chart to reflect this first week (the purpose of this chart is to attempt to even out the results from all the different events and keep track of our top performances; it is just for fun, but it is pretty accurate and we've been using it since 2016, so it has a lot of our programs history on it). Our 43 marks hitting the chart is our 2nd most ever from one meet and includes 5 new girls marks on the all-time record board (also, the girls have 16 of the top 20 marks on the season! Way to go ladies!). Results
NEW TRACK UNIFORM INFO:
New uniforms are in. We'll pick them up next week. You have to have paid to get your new top. The cost for the new Nike top is $50 (if you are fundraising and hit the $100 mark, your top is free). If you haven't ordered shorts (this is done individually), please go back to the previous post and check out the info for uniforms and ordering shorts.
FUNDRAISING:
One last call for fundraising. Sponsor names have to be sent to me this Sunday evening (3/9) if they are going to get on the Invite t-shirt.
PV Invite Sponsors: Businesses can help sponsor the Invite for $50+. For this, the business receives its name listed on the back of the meet shirt, a link on our webpage, and being listed as an event sponsor on the meet program. Sponsors MUST be turned in to Coach Holt by Friday.
SMS Text and Social Media Campaign: Instead of using a company (like the last couple years), we will be using our PV Venmo to collect the money. The paperwork has an example message you could copy, a place to plan who to send messages to, as well as suggestions for including the Venmo on your text and social media posts.
For both types of donations, just make sure that any money sent to the PV Venmo is labeled "track sponsor - (your name)"
We've also included a list of incentives to help encourage you to participate.

Youth Program:
We are encouraging those who want to participate in a youth track program to join Velocity Kids. Stay tuned for more info about opportunities for 6-8th graders to come to PVHS Track Camp. We will also be hosting a Youth Meet on April 22nd (reg. at 4:30p, start at 5:00p)
Schedule for the Week:
***If you're in town, be to practice. If you're out of town, do your best to be doing stuff each day. This is a big week to be getting some stuff in.
"Champions are made when no one is watching" - Muhammad Ali.
This is so true. Many people work when coaches and teammates are around or there is someone to impress. But those who really want to be great (and be great for their team and their friends), work just as hard (or harder) when there is no spotlight on them! ***
