The themes for this Spring Break week are PRACTICE and SELF-MOTIVATION! Since we are out of school and many of you are gone, this is the time where each of you have to prove that you want to be committed to the team and your own self-improvement and get your workouts in. The meets this past weekend proved one thing, you must practice with consistency to get better. So if you are in town, come to your event's scheduled practices. If you're out of town, dig deep and get your workouts in. Either way... you MUST be PRACTICING if you want to get better and contribute to this team.

Throwers: You will be meeting at the HS at 9:00a on M/W/F
Distance: Your schedule is linked to the right in the usual place. Monday we will meet at 8:00a at the Maverick round-a-bout on the Washington Parkway for our long run. All other workouts are on your own.
Thought of the week, fitting for a Spring Break week:
"If you want to look good in front of thousands, you have to outwork thousands in front of nobody." -Damian Lillard
A couple reminders:
Remember, we have the PINE VIEW INVITE the week we get back from Spring Break. All sponsors should already be turned in to Coach Holt. Boys are responsible for donating 20 oz. Gatorades and girls are in charge of 16-17 oz. waters. Those need to be brought to Coach at school or at practice by Wednesday of the Invite week. Also, we are still looking for some parents who could help in the concession stands. And, we are looking for anyone who could arrange donations or discounts on pizza and something like Chik-fil-a for the meet. So if you have the hook-ups, get working on it!
Also, this year we are going to do Athletes of the Week through nominations. Think of a teammate who is doing extraordinary things in practice, meets, and in leadership, and either text Coach (through the remind app) or email Coach at pineviewtrack@gmail.com. Send the name of your nominee and a quick reason why. We need guys and girls from all three track categories: sprints, distance, and field.
Race Recaps
Snow Canyon: This meet was a great start to the season. We had strong events from many, especially many of our young athletes competing in their first track meet. Autumn Bishop recorded our top 100 and 200 times on the weekend. Pyper Holt and Gracie Clements took 6th and 7th in the 800. And Josh Hardman recorded a 13th place in the LJ. Other top marks were Raymond Tauoa's 37' shot and Addi Baker's 5th place finish in the 3200.
Virgin Valley: Both squads did very well here, especially considering our limited entries. The boys took first and the girls placed 4th. Some top marks were: girls 4x800 (1st), Jacob Mpungi 1st in LJ (21-03) and 4th in the 100 (11.51). Boys 4x200 (2nd). Boys and girls 4x400 (2nd). Samson Doyle 1st 400 (51.59) and 5th in the 200 (23.32). Colin Tudor 3rd in LJ (19-0.5). Alex Hill, Carson Horspool, and Scottie Bushar going 1,2,4 in the 1600. Julien Canales, Nathan Beitler, and Mikey Abbeglen going 1,2,3 in the 3200. Evan Boyer 2nd (hmmm?) in a thrilling 800. Jacey Finch with a 5:25 to win the 1600. And Rylee Holt and Sylvia Brown going 2,4 in the 3200.
