RACE REPORT
Hurricane Invite - Full results here. Dealing with the elements in Hurricane is always a growing experience. But great job to those who went with a positive attitude and completed all your events with your best effort. Good job to Carter and Kyle Rimmasch who took 4th and 6th in the 400; Carter, Jake, and Kyle Rim. who went 2nd, 3rd, and 6th in the 800; Talmage for 3rd in the 1600; Braxton on 6th in the 300h; Ethan on winning the shot and Brodie in 4th, George 6th and Frank 7th; Ethan also won the discus, Brodie 2nd, Kevin 4th, and Frank 5th (our throws crew is off the charts!); we also saw some nice progress from Paul in his jumps Elliot in his 800 and 1600 (where he is quickly becoming one of the top Freshmen in PV history); Ashley had a great meet with a 2nd in the 100, 5th in the 200, and winning the LJ; Katie F. placed 7th in the 800 and 8th in the 1600; Chloe took 5th in the discus; and Claire 4th in the HJ.
Desert Hills Invite - Full results here. Thanks to those who helped take some of the team to Arcadia. It was well worth the trip and our athletes represented well. Bridger hit a new school record in the 1600 while en route to his 2nd place finish in the Open Mile (he placed 12th overall in the whole meet!). The boys running the 4x1600 hit a new school record. TJ tied his school record in the discus and placed 11th overall; he also threw the shot well and placed 13th overall.  Colton was 8th in the Open shot and 14th in the Open discus. Tori went up against the best HJers in the nation and placed 17th in the Invite section. And our girls distance medley placed 4th in the Open with a mark that is 13th in the nation. Performance Chart

Quote of the Week -
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
 - Winston Churchill
Seems like a good quote at around the half-way point of a season. Some are succeeding, some are not feeling like they are doing quite what they'd like. But not matter; if your doing great - awesome, but you still aren't done. If you're struggline - guess what, your still alive and get more shots at doing better. The real battle is the one to keep going. There's a lot of people who started with our team back in late Feb who aren't coming out anymore. It really is a bummer because we could use everyone (and everyone could use the lessons you learn in track & field). But you who are still around are truly amazing. Because thick or thin, you keep coming out and trying. And I truly believe that with a real effort marked with consistency, you will always end up improving - in track and in life.
