*IRONMAN UPDATE*** Parents please help you athlete be here to this... we need everyone's help. Here's the spreadsheet with info about where you should be. (Here is the pdf with a full description of each location and job.) We sent out an email with info about meeting time and stuff for THIS SATURDAY, but in case you didn't get it, here it is...
Hey {first name},
We are excited to get the Ironman here THIS SATURDAY! My name is Dave Holt, and I'm the Run Pointer Captain.
We've been working hard to make sure we fill all our spots. So thank you so much for volunteering. Most of you are members of the Pine View HS track team, but we'll also be joined by some other members of the community who are also volunteering (excited to have you with us).
For the High School team: we are going to gather at Hurst Ace Hardware (160 N Bluff St) at 8:30 on Saturday to organize everyone, get our shirts, and get assigned to our spots. PLEASE BE THERE and on time! (and remember that certain roads and routes might be closed off, so plan plenty of time to get there.) We will then scatter to our spots for the day. Please bring plenty of WATER, FOOD for lunch and snacks, sunscreen, and anything else you think you'll need (maybe a lawn chair to sit when you get a chance, clothes appropriate for the weather, etc). You're going to be at your spot pretty much all day, so plan on it.
For our Community Volunteers: if you have the first shift, you can also join us at the same gathering location to get organized and get your shirt. Those who have later shifts, you can just report to the location you signed up for at the appropriate time and we will get your shirt to you then - or if you don't have specific spot, shoot me a text anytime and we'll get one set for you.
If you need anything during the shift, my number is 801-834-8524.
This google doc has a spreadsheet for our shifts (and for the HS team, your location and who you are working with). Please feel free to grab another friend or two and bring them along with you to keep life entertaining. I can't guarantee a shirt for them, but I'll try and steal a few extra!
thanks
-dave

There really haven't been too many weeks better in PV Track and Field history than what we just had. Huge congrats to the entire team on just a great week. We are so proud of our JV athletes who finished up their seasons with great races and events up and JV Region and SUU. Thanks for coming out and being part of this team. Non-Seniors, we hope that you keep coming back with even more passion and knowledge and keep our team growing in the future. Seniors, thanks for everything you've done to make PV Track the amazing program that it is.
That all being said, it isn't all goodbyes and see-you-laters... we have more work to do. This week we head into Region and are really gearing up for State. We will have a team meeting at 3:00p in the PV lecture hall tomorrow to go over Region plans and strategy. Everyone competing at Region (or if you think you might be, or if you are still wanting to come out and be part of the team for the next couple weeks but your racing is done) please be there.
*please note - entries in sporttrax for region are not set (or even real!); entries will be updated Sunday and Monday*
