End of Year Review

What a great season this has been for PV Track & Field!  We have gone through a lot of ups and downs, but the constant has been the hard work and heart of the athletes... we are all so proud of the way you represent this school and this team.  Thank you for all you have done.  We would like to recognize our Seniors who have dedicated years to this program - the future success we will have is because of the foundation you have created.

Most Valuable Athlete
     boys: Colton Miller - Senior Captain; 5 x State Qualifier (100, 200, 4x100, Medley, 4x400)
     girls: Jacey Finch - Freshman; 5 x State Qualifier (800, 1600, 3200, 4x400, Medley)

Sprint Athlete of the Year
     boys: Jaxon Chepkwurui - Freshman; top hurdler on team
     girls: Lexi Olds - Junior; sprinter, heart and soul of the team, State Qualifier in 4x400 and Medley

Field Athlete of the Year
     boys: Neitana Leung Choi - Junior; top 5 throw in all 3 throws, State Qualifier in javelin
     girls: Kaytlin Dowdell - Junior; 7th at State in the discus

Distance Athlete of the Year
     boys: Nick Hill - Junior; State Qualifier in the 800, 1600, 4x400, Medley, 4th in State in the 1600 (#3 3A Utah time in 2015)
     girls: Josie Bushar - Sophomore; 3200 State Qualifier

Outstanding Performance of the Year
     boys: Nick Hill - Junior; 1:56.86 800 at Dixie Invitational (#5 3A Utah time in 800)
     girls: Moani Andresen - Senior; 34'00' Shot Put on last throw to win Desert Hills Invitational

Outstanding Newcomer
     boys: Samson Doyle - Freshman; Sprinter with outstanding potential and work ethic
     girls: Caroline Clements/Ellie Bushar - Freshmen; Amazing distance runners who both State Qualified in the 3200

Most Improved
     boys: Kawika Santiago - Sophomore; Sprinter and Long Jumper who State Qualified in the 4x100 and improved greatly from last year and throughout the year in his sprints and long jump
               Preston Warby - Junior; Distance runner who State Qualified in the 3200
     girls: Alli Peterson - Mid-Distance runner who State Qualified in the 4x400, Medley and 800

Congratulations to each of you - and to all of you who completed the season.  It really was a very fun year; a year we can all build on and continue to develop this team into the Region and State level team that we truly are.
