Mar. 27 - Apr. 1 JV @ SC and DH Invite (Panther Relays & PV Invite Recap)

We made it! So many "thank you's" to give out: Parents who helped in any way at the meet (concessions, with events, timing, donating food or time to the coaches' dinner, getting your kid's gatorade donation on Friday morning when they forgot to remind you all week!), Athletes who helped in any way (helping at an event, moving hurdles, setting up, cleaning up, bringing your drink donation), Friends of PV track & field (officiating events, weigh-ins, and a million other things), and anyone else who helped out in any way... you are all SO AMAZING! The PV Invite was our largest yet (1,700 athletes with 60 schools represented) and it went very well. And we are all glad it is done. Also, thanks to all the athletes that went and helped out at the Fossil Donut Run... kids loved having you there.

2023 Performance Chart: Here our the top performances from PV Track and Field for the 2023 season. Check out how impressive our meet performances were this year compared to other recent years... I told you we have an awesome team!

Youth Track - Our Youngsters program for 6-8th graders will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at PVHS from 3:10-4:00(ish). This Track and Field Skills Camp is designed to help our young athletes learn the skills and basics of a variety of track and field events in a fun and well-coached atmosphere. Spread the word to those who might want to participate.

Panther Relays: On Tuesday we held our Panther Relays meet with Hurricane, DH, Dixie, and Cedar. Everyone had a great time and had a great workout in the rain and cold topped off by a controversial officials decision in the girls throwers twinkie relay! Most fun meet of the year.

Pine View Invitational: The 31st annual PV Invite was another great success and our team continues to see a lot of growth and improvement. Some of our top marks on the boys' side:  Abe recorded the 4th fastest 100 of the meet (ony missing an SQ because of the wind), and we hit 4 other guys under 12 (Tyson, Quincy, Matt, and Kwade); Spencer, Tyson, Brock and Ayden earned PRs in the 200; Ryder took 20th overall in the 400; Diego and Ryder both PRed in the 800; Trey took 4th in the 1600 with the 2nd fastest time in PV history, Porter just missed an SQ, and Diego, Keaton and Jamin PRed; Bridger (barely missing an SQ), Porter, and Kyler all PRed in the 3200; Braxton hit a PR in the 110h; Dom too 16th in the 300h; TJ was our only event champion with another SCHOOL RECORD in the disc (throwing over 166 feet), we also had PRs from Colton (earning a SQ and 7th place finish), Brodie (just off an SQ with an 11th place finish), and Frank; Sawyer continues to impress in the jav with a 2nd place finish, Frank just missed an SQ with a 10th place finish, with Brodie not far behind in 14th, and a big PR from Seedar; in the Shot Put Colton hit a PR and took 6th and TJ took 16th; and finally Dom PRed in the LJ taking 16th overall.

****CONTINUING IN 2023 - We will be splitting the meet into two sessions: a PV Invitational session and an MVP Sports Championship session. To facilitate the change, WE WILL NOT HAVE PRELIMS IN ANY EVENT - ALL EVENTS WILL BE FINALS ONLY. The PV Invite session will include the larger numbers of heats and flights which will be seeded according to the registered seed mark - for the sprint events, these races will be held on Friday. The MVP Sports Championship session will take the top two heats of sprint events and race them on Saturday. Field events, distance events, and relays will also be divided into the two sessions and will be held over both days according to the schedule.****

1 - As this is an early season meet, seed marks may be a best mark from the 2022 season or a 2023 time trial/indoor/outdoor meet - if an athlete does not have a mark from 2022-’23, the athlete may be entered into the meet and will be placed in the PV Invite session (exception is the 1600 and 3200 meter races which have a hard time standard that must be met).

2 - Please use these time standards for registering runners (* 3200 and 1600 events are hard standards - times must be met or athletes will be removed from the event / 400,200,100 are suggested standards to keep the meet competitive and entries somewhat limited - coaches please dutifully consider the registration of athletes that will not meet these marks):
