Jan. 4-9

Happy New Year and new Track and Field Season! Now is the time to get started (for all those who aren't in a winter sport). Let's get out to practice and get friends out to practice.

Check out the spring schedule if you haven't yet.

PV Track & Field communications: You already know about this blog since you are here. Info will be posted on here every week through the season (usually updated Sunday afternoon). If you aren't receiving our track text messages, text the code @trackprs to 81010 to be added to our list.
PLEASE SHARE THIS INFO WITH ANYONE/EVERYONE THAT YOU THINK MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN TRACK - especially Freshmen. Even if you think they are on the texts or might look at this blog, share with them the link so they for sure know that things are starting up.

Schedule for the Week:
Distance Crew: Mon-Fri at PVHS; Monday - 8:00a, Tuesday - Thursday - regular practice schedule 3:00p, Thursday am - 6:15a weights and short run, Friday - 12:45p, Saturday - on own or form group run - this week's workouts

Sprint Crew and Jumpers: Weds at PVHS regular practice schedule 3:00p, Friday - 12:45p

Throwers: Tuesday and Thursday at PVHS - 3:00p

Participation Fee/Register My Athlete/Physical: Let's get these all taken care of soon. Registermyathlete is super easy and only takes a few minutes to do if you have your physical on file. If you don't have a physical from this year yet, you can still do the registermyathlete just also get your physical scheduled and taken care of ASAP. If you participated in track last year and haven't transferred your fees to another sport (like track last year to XC this year), you will be able to do that for this coming track season (track last year to track this year). Other than that, let's not worry about participation fees until at least after the holidays.

Thought of the Week: "8 big principles for most things:
1. Stress + Rest = Growth
2. Focus on Process, Not Results
3. Practice Humility
4. Build Tribe
5. Take Small, Consistent Steps to Achieve Big Gains
6. Be a Minimalist to be a Maximalist
7. Make Hard Things Easier
8. Remember to Experience Joy"
-Brad Stulberg
Have you set any resolutions or goals for yourself for the new year? As you do, this list might be a great guide for you in helping you achieve positive gains in your own life. Each principle can be applied to every aspect of life and will help you accomplish good things (including as we start off a new season). So take a second and think about each of these ideas and apply it to some areas where you want to see improvements (again, including in your upcoming track and field season).
