Mar. 7-12

Great job with our Silver & Black Meet this past week. You guys all did a good job pushing yourselves. Hopefully it helped prep you for our upcoming meets, and maybe it gave you a little idea what a track meet is like. Things get pretty busy from here on out, so make sure you are doing your best to plan and schedule everything. And let's put a big focus on being at practice each day. We have a very good team on both the girls and guys side. Ultimately, we'll be as good as the work you put in right now.

So this is real important: We need everyone to get your registermyathlete done, so PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR REGISTRATION, YOUR FEES, AND YOUR PARENT-ATHLETE MEETING SLIDES. Those who haven't done the parent-athlete meeting (parents and athletes) need to please check out our Parent-Athlete Meeting slides. (This takes place of our having an in-person meeting, so please do it.)
Participation Fee/Register My Athlete/Physical: This must be done or you won't be allowed to participate with the team any more! Registermyathlete is super easy and only takes a few minutes to do if you have your physical on file. If you don't have a physical from this year yet, you can still do the registermyathlete just also get your physical scheduled and taken care of ASAP.
This must be completed to attend practice (if your physical is scheduled, but not complete, you can still attend)!

Uniform Info: See previous post. Uniforms/gear need to be purchased before pick-up. And uniforms/gear will be put away at the end of the week, so get them purchased this week.

Thought of the Week: "The journey is the reward."
-Tao expression
"Like is a journey, travel it well."
-unknown
A couple thoughts about journeys. We are all starting this journey of a track and field season together and it's an exciting time. Sometimes, though, we forget about the journey and only focus on the end result. Maybe it's to run a certain time or throw a certain distance. Maybe the goal is to win a title or something else like that. And those are all great goals and awesome things to strive for. But we must all remember that no only is the journey the thing that will get us there, but enjoying that journey is where true joy comes from. So let's have a great week; and at practice each day and at our meets, lets have some fun, meet new people, put in our best efforts, and enjoy what we are doing.

PV Track & Field communications: You already know about this blog since you are here. Info will be posted on here every week through the season (usually updated Sunday afternoon). If you aren't receiving our track text messages, text the code @trackprs2 to 81010 to be added to our list.
PLEASE SHARE THIS INFO WITH ANYONE/EVERYONE THAT YOU THINK MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN TRACK - especially Freshmen. Even if you think they are on the texts or might look at this blog, share with them the link so they for sure know that things are starting up.

Check out the spring schedule if you haven't yet. A couple start times changed in the last few days.

Youth Club Info: Our MS Developmental Track and Field Clinic is going strong. This group meets Monday and Thursday at 3:00a-4:15('ish) and is open to all PV students in 6th-8th grades. We will focus on each different track and field event and give athletes an opportunity to work with the coaches of each specialty to see what our middle school athletes may want to pursue. We will meet throughout the spring and participate and host multiple track meets.
