Apr. 17 - 22 Dixie Invite (Crimson Recap)

Thanks again for the help at this week's Youth meet; glad they are done, but it is great that we do them. We're headed into the last bit of our season. Don't be slacking because we've been going for awhile and it seems like the end is still a ways away - we actually only have a month until State, 3 weeks until Region, 2 weeks until JV Region, and really only a few meets left. So refocus on all the stuff that will help you be successful (sleep, hydration, keeping stress low by being caught up in your classes, and being to practice every day!) and refocus on your individual goals and our team goals.

2023 Performance Chart: Here our the top performances from PV Track and Field for the 2023 season. With 28 new marks added this week (new or improvements), we have now broken our team record for number of result over the 500 point barrier!

Sentinel Invite - Travel trip to Salt Lake: in a few weeks we have our overnighter to the SLC area. Here are our standards and a little explanation about getting invited.

Crimson JV: Results Our JV crew is really doing great things every week. Noteable results from Crimson: Brecken won the 1600; our boys went 7-12th in the 1600 including Trevor P. who became our 2nd sub-5:00 freshman this year; Trevor C. and Cayson went 3 and 5 in the 110h; Tori was 4th in the 100 and we saw a lot of improvement from many of our young runners like Kalley, Avery, and Caylin; Kwade took 4th in the 100; the boys throwers won the field 4x100; Brianna was 2nd in the 400; Kevin, Spencer, and Tyson 2, 3, and 4 in the 400; Talmage won the 300h; Sariah was 3rd in the 800 with Alianna 5th; Bender, Keaton, Talmage, and Evan went 2-5 in the 800; the boys 4x200 won; Rachel, MacKenzie, Tori, and Elsie went 1-4 in the 200; Dom was 2nd in the 200 with some nice results from our young guys like Colebin and Carson C.; Claire won the LJ with Isi 3rd in their first attempts at the event; we had 4 girls finish in the top 8 of the disc (Chloe, Tea, Morgan, and Niviah); Kevin took 2nd in the disc; Shan won the jav with Kevin 3rd and Brock 5th; and Morgan also won the jav with Abby 3rd and Elsie 5th; George took 3rd in the shot with Landen 6th; Lauren PRed in the shot for 3rd with Chloe 6th and Charity 7th. Overall, both teams took the win with the boys over SC by 17 and the girls ahead of DH by 10!

Crimson Invitational: Results The more athletes we have that buy into the team concept, the better this team does and the better individuals are doing too. Congrats to our new State Qualifiers: Ashley in the 200, Rachel in the 100, the boys 4x400 relay, the boys 4x800 relay (and a new SCHOOL RECORD!), Adri in the 800, and Abe in the 100. We also had a ton of medalists who helped our team have another tremendous showing - The boys took 4th, and the girls just got inched out of the win and took 2nd. Awesome job for both teams even though we didn't load up the events and were missing a few key people on each side. If you're not stoked about what the team is doing, then you need to spend more time at the meets and at practice with the team and feel the energy. Beyond our SQs and School Records, other top performances: Brook 2nd in 3200; Tori 4th in 100h; Ashley 2nd in 100; MacKenzie 5th and Emmalee 6th in 400; Girls 800 took 5 of the top 6 spots with Adri 1st, Emmalee 2nd, Kate 3rd, Elle 5th, and Katie 6th; Ashley 3rd in 200 (she now holds the Freshman school record in both the 100 and 200); Kate won the 1600, Brook 3rd, Adri 6th; Talmage went 4th and Keaton 5th in the 1600, Bender took 7th and broke our Freshman school record; Tori 2nd in the hj, with Claire and Isi tied for 5th; Lauren got 7th in the disc; Sawyer won the jav, Franklin 3rd, and Seedar 6th; Colton hit a big 50+ foot throw to take 2nd in shot with TJ in 4th; Colton, Brodie and Frank went 6, 7, 8 in the disc; and finally, Tea continues to do great things in the shot and took 2nd.

Alumni Update: Carson raced the 10K for Weber down in Long Beach this weekend and ended with a time just under the 31:00 mark. Luke racing for the BYU farm team raced bothteh 5K and 1500 down in Long Beach this weekend and ended with PRs in both events.
